Gaining popularity in the 80s, the power lunch gave Wall Street bankers a chance to get out of the office, be productive, and arm-wrestle He-Man for a chance to wield the Sword of Power. Continue the noble tradition with today at Spinning Tomato’s!
About the Merchant
Spinning Tomato’s When food met dance, the happy outcome was Ahmedabad’s Spinning Tomato’s. This 74-seater restaurant was founded in collaboration with Tomato’s Diner and Spin Academy dance studio. The unusual concept came about after a conversation between Rushad Ginwala of Tomato’s, Akash Karnatki of Spin Academy and Chef Pranav Joshi. It kept the original theme of Tomato’s – framed photographs and posters of classic Hollywood movies and musicians lining the brick walls, a checkered black and white theme that continues from the floor on to the bar walls where acoustic guitars are placed overhead. The seating is equally vibrant with orange, red, blue and black sofas being divided by pretty wood-and-glass barriers. The USP of this restaurant however is the way it combines a dining experience with great music and an impromptu dance show. You can watch students at the academy dance and Tomato’s often invite some of its best students to perform for the diners. The food is 100% vegetarian – it serves a mix of Mexican, Indian, Italian & Pan Asian food.
